Florence Price: Song of Hope

Written in 1930 for orchestra, baritone soloist, a large chorus, and pipe organ. Song of Hope was likely never performed during Price’s lifetime and was only recently found in the University of Arkansas’s archives in an unopened envelope. It will only be the sixth time the work has been performed since its first performance was given in March of 2022 by the Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra, New York. That performance was given as a part of the ONEcomposer initiative’s efforts to disseminate the stories of musically excellent, historically excluded legacies.

Price: Resignation conducted by undergraduate music major Natalie Laurie

Amy Beach: The Chambered Nautilus for Chorus and Orchestra

Trad. / Arr. J. David Moore: Will the Circle Be Unbroken

Hildegard von Bingen: O virtus sapientie

J.S. Bach: Chorale from Jesu, meine Freude, BWV 227

Stephen Paulus: The Road Home
